In 1916 the Calcutta High Court refused to enroll Regina Guha on account of her gender. Women could study law; but as a profession, law was the domain of men and reserved as such. Over a century later, the change is evident. Women, from all walks of life, are not just practicing law, they are thriving. They are heading legal departments for large organisations; starting and managing their law firms; successfully representing clients as litigators, arbitrators, and meditators. The path hasn’t been easy, and still isn’t.
The inaugural Women in Legal Leadership (WILL) Forum is a one-day thought leadership conference bringing together female professionals from theIndian legal sector to address the challenges they face in the workplace with a focus on how to cultivate an inclusive culture driven by collaboration and interdependence.
